Annual Fire Inspection

On Tuesday, October 6th, 2026, beginning around 8:00 am, Sunmit Fire & Security will be conducting our annual fire alarm test mandated by the Everett Fire Department.

Everyone (including renters) will need to participate. This bulletin serves as notice that you are required, per the Association’s bylaws and City ordinances, to allow them access to your unit and garage.

If you are not able to be home on that day, please check with your floor neighbors; someone is likely to be home to let them briefly into your unit. If they cannot access your unit, a return trip may need to be scheduled at your expense.

They will inspect the central alarm and fire extinguishers. The main alarm is very loud and will be tested several times in each building that day. Please refrain from disconnecting your smoke detector in a futile attempt to kill the noise in your unit. It is not your smoke detector that is making the noise, although it would be a good time to make sure that your smoke detector is working properly:
  • First, locate your smoke detector, attached to the ceiling, in your hallway.
  • Examine the smoke detector for a little round “test” button. All detectors have one. Press and hold the test button for a few seconds to see if it beeps. If it does, your detector is working properly. If not, remove the smoke detector and check your batteries. Batteries should be replaced twice a year.
  • According to the manufacturer’s instructions, all smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years of use. The date will be listed on the back of the detector. If there is no date on the smoke detector, it is over 10 years old and needs to be replaced.
  • If you hear your smoke detector “chirping” (it continuously beeps every few seconds for up to a minute). This indicates that the battery needs to be replaced.
Washington State law (RCW 19.27.530) requires carbon monoxide alarms to be installed in new residences. As of January 1, 2013, carbon monoxide alarms are required in existing apartments, condominiums, hotels, motels, and single-family residences, with some exceptions. Owner-occupied single-family residences, legally occupied before July 26, 2009, are not required to have carbon monoxide alarms until they are sold. To comply, simply install the CO alarms in the area right outside each bedroom. They can be found in most hardware stores, etc.

Thank you,

The Board of Directors

Decks Inspection Tomorrow

In order to maintain the warranty on the coating, etc. decks must be inspected yearly. Because of the restrictions imposed by covid-19 we were not able to perform the inspection last year.

Advantage Contractors, the company that normally works on our decks, is currently on-site wrapping up the repairs of the sprinkler flooding in Building 3. Their schedule has unexpectedly opened up allowing them to perform the decks' inspection tomorrow, Thursday, March 4.

You do not need to be home, they will inspect the decks from the outside using ladders.

Sorry for the short notice, but this will greatly reduce our costs.

Tree Trimming Notice

On Monday, July 20th, 2020, Brad's Stump & Tree Service will be trimming trees throughout the entire property. They will be working around each building and in the parking lot.

The trees on the west side of the parking lot, by the Shiloh fence, will be trimmed. If you park on that side of the parking lot, please be sure to move your vehicle to another parking lot location on Monday morning.

Our landscapers would normally trim trees in the parking lot but were not able to do so while the stay-at-home order was in effect; the lot was just too full on most days. The trees have now grown too close to the power line and must be professionally trimmed.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Building 3 Water Damage

Some of you may be wondering was is going on with Building 3. Last Thursday, we had some workers in the attic addressing an issue with the ridge vents being plugged. Unfortunately one of them stepped on a sprinkler line and water came gushing down from the third floor all the way down to the first.

There is water damage to 3 hallways, 4 units, and 3 garages. Servpro is currently drying things out, cutting into walls, etc. The insurance adjuster will be on site tomorrow to assess the damages.

Click on the photo above to view all of the photos in the album. We'll be updating the photos regularly.

Carpet Cleaning

Building 3's carpets are being deep cleaned by our new cleaning crew. If everything looks good when they're done, we'll be doing the other buildings in the coming weeks.
