Final Fire Inspection on Tuesday

This notice is NOT related to the Annual Fire Alarm Inspection scheduled for October 25, 2022.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the Everett Fire Inspector will perform the final inspection on the new fire monitoring hardware that was recently installed in all buildings. During the inspection, the audible fire alarms will sound multiple times. We won’t know the approximate times this will happen until that morning when the inspector creates their schedule.

Thank you,

Annual Fire Alarm Insepction

On Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 beginning around 8:00 am, AAA Fire Protection will be conducting our annual fire alarm test mandated by the Everett Fire Department.

Everyone (including renters) will need to participate. This bulletin is to serve as notice that you are required per the Association’s by-laws to allow them access to your unit and garage.

They will inspect the central alarm and fire extinguishers. The main alarm is very loud and will be tested several times in each building that day. Please refrain from disconnecting your smoke detector in a futile attempt to kill the noise in your unit. It is not your smoke detector that is making the noise, although it would be a good time to make sure that your smoke detector is working properly:
  • First locate your smoke detector, attached to the ceiling, in your hallway.
  • Examine the smoke detector for a little round “test” button. All detectors have one. Press and hold the test button for a few seconds to see if it beeps. If it does, your detector is working properly. If not, remove the smoke detector and check your batteries. Batteries should be replaced twice a year.
  • According to the manufacturer’s instructions, all smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years of use. The date will be listed on the back of the detector. If there is no date on the smoke detector, it is over 10 years old and needs to be replaced.
  • If you hear your smoke detector “chirping” (it continuously beeps every few seconds up to a minute). This is an indication that the battery needs to be replaced.
Washington State law (RCW 19.27.530) requires carbon monoxide alarms to be installed in new residences. As of January 1, 2013, carbon monoxide alarms are required in existing apartments, condominiums, hotels, motels, and single-family residences, with some exceptions. Owner-occupied single-family residences, legally occupied before July 26, 2009, are not required to have carbon monoxide alarms until they are sold. To comply, simply install the CO alarms in the area right outside each bedroom. They can be found in most hardware stores, etc.

Thank you,

The Board of Directors

Safety & Security Update

Homeowner
Cedar West Owners Association
Everett, WA 98204

Re: Safety and Security Update

Dear Homeowners,

Recently a garage was broken into, and the car was stolen from the garage!

We have a few reminders for everyone to stay safe and secure in the community.

  • Always lock your garage with a deadbolt.
  • If you do not have a deadbolt on your garage door, have one installed.
  • Never prop open the building back doors.
  • Be on the lookout for anybody suspicious or that does not belong on the property.

Some owners have installed cameras on various locations throughout the property.

Please take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of the entire Cedar West community by taking

these and all other security measures seriously.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by e-mail at cedarwest@impacthoa.com or by phone at 425-949-4554.

Respectfully,
